The reviews continue to trickle in for our current productions, Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” ending on Sunday and Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena,” which runs through November 14th. Mark-Brian Sonna praises a host of “jaw-dropping and amazing vocal performances” but adds that one is in a class by itself.

To whom it may concern,
My name is Kevin Martin. Last night I took my wife to the Opera for our anniversary. We are not rich people so this is a big event for us. My wife was very excited and so was I. We hadn’t been to the Opera since Porgy and Bess at Fair Park. Our seats were on the Grand Tier Section C Row 3 Seats 1 and 2, not the most expensive seats in the house but I was told they were good seats by the ticket agent. I purchased my tickets over the phone with the Dallas Opera Ticket Office. I had a long conversation with how important this night was to us. It would have been good to know that the seats were obstructed view. We could not see anyone on the back part of the stage. We were completely blocked by the subtitle screen. I would have had no problem purchasing better tickets only if I WOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. My seats are handicapped so I go out of my way when I purchase seats for events. The kicker to the whole night was when we were leaving at the first intermission. I went and asked the inside box office if they could accommodate us and they did nothing so we left. I am sorry that I picked the Dallas Opera to spend our anniversary but I will know better next time.
