Butterflies Over Santa Fe

by Suzanne Calvin

Those unlucky enough to have missed the Dallas Opera’s outstanding season finale, “Madame Butterfly,” are getting something of a second chance at Santa Fe where two of the four leads are currently starring in the latest version of Puccini’s classic heartbreaker.

Once again, according to Dallas Morning News Classical Music Critic Scott Cantrell, tenor Brandon Jovanovich showed a glorious voice for that cad Pinkerton.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for sharing about our great shared castmembers. It’s a wonderful production in Santa Fe, and we hope our Dallas fans will join us for Butterfly and other offerings of the season.

Of course, I’m still heart-broken to have missed your critically important premiere of Moby Dick! I think missing out is called “opera-regret.”
