Woody at the Opera

After setting the bar low with numerous comments in recent days, Woody Allen evidently delivered beyond expectations in his West Coast operatic debut.   My only concern is the artistic license shown in his staging of the ending of Gianni Schicchi.

Yet, the question remains: So far as Puccini is concerned, is that merely a stab…or a stab in the back?

Il Trittico plays through September 26th at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
