campTDO™
made possible by grants from

for kindergarten through 5th grade
Explore the world of John Davies’ operatic version of Jack and the Beanstalk at campTDO. Join the Dallas Opera for a 3-hour interactive discussion that gives campers a first-hand account of what it takes to create an opera production. Under the guidance of TDO teaching artists, campers will get a behind-the-scenes experience of what it takes to perform live opera. Each campTDO session will conclude with a fully-staged performance of Jack and the Beanstalk performed by TDO teaching artists.
Campers will:
- Learn the building blocks of opera through an interactive discussion
- Learn what it takes to be courteous audience members
- Participate in musical and visual arts activities based around the story of Jack and the Beanstalk
- Experience a live, fully-staged opera performance
Each campTDO workshop takes place at the Karayanis Rehearsal Production Center located just outside Fair Park at Gate 12.
