Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Join the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Museum of art for a new interdisciplinary partnership uniting the performing arts with the visual arts in a new and exciting way. Each Music & Masterpieces program includes a performance by world-renowned musicians inspired by the DMA's special exhibitions or collection paired with a gallery tour.*

September's Music & Masterpieces event will feature David Portillo accompanied by Jason Smith and will celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Texas tenor David Portillo has established a reputation as an accomplished vocalist with “honeyed, perfectly focused singing” (Chicago Tribune). A versatile recitalist, David has appeared with Steven Blier and also performed a Schwabacher Debut Recital under the auspices of the San Francisco Opera Center. In response, the San Francisco Chronicle found that “His tenor rang out clearly and brightly, his diction was exemplary, and he moved with easy assurance from the 17th century to the 20th and through realms in between.”

Th tours of the DMA's collection at 3:00 pm will feature works of art ranging from ancient times in Mexico and South America to modern Mexican paintings and mosaics.
