Orchestra auditions are held when a vacancy occurs. When an audition is scheduled it will be announced in the AFM publication the International Musician and the Dallas Fort Worth Professional Musicians Association newsletter. 2017-2018 Principal Horn Audition Notice


Auditions for available “core” or “auxiliary” positions are held annually after the conclusion of our performance season – usually in late May or Early June. Classically trained singers should inquire by e-mail to ChorusAuditions@dallasopera.org or Cayley.Carroll@dallasopera.org.

Applicants must include a resume and head shot to be considered. Applicants will be screened and those selected should prepare 1 operatic aria or art song in a language other than English. Italian, German, French or Russian are highly encouraged. Choristers may also offer an additional piece in English if they feel it shows their voice to better advantage. Choristers may be required to perform a rhythmic exercise, as well as sight-read, at the audition. A professional pianist will play for your audition.


Seasonal Artists

2017-2018 Dancer Auditions The Dallas Opera will hold auditions for experienced dancers for its upcoming production of Samson & Dalila by Saint-Saëns and La Traviata by Verdi on Friday June 16th beginning at 1:00PM please e-mail cayley.carroll@dallasopera.org for details. This audition is open to the public.
